Go Animate: The Experience
This goAnimate website will be very helpful in the future when i become a teacher. I will be able to make fun learning videos to help my future students learn the subjects in a fun and exciting way. Such subjects including math, science, history, reading and writing, and history. They will love to help and create a video as well. I know for a fact I will love using this go Animate tool in my classroom. I am very glad that I have learned about this website as well as learning how to use this tool.

HomeWork - Prezi: ISTE NETS-T 2a
Prezi
can be used effectively as a digital tool that promote student learning and
creatively by engaging the student in the learning experience. Prezi is similar to other tools like
Microsoft’s PowerPoint software, but is much easier to use, in my opinion. Prezi’s aesthetic appeal should be able to
keep students attention better than traditional presentation tools. With Prezi’s
transitions, rather than just switching from slide to slide, it pans and
zooms around the screen to key points in a set order to give a rather seamless
and pretty viewing experience that keeps students engaged and attentive. Additionally, with Prezi, students can make
their own presentations and share them with other students, with their
teachers, and others instantaneously with little effort. Another great thing about Prezi is its
cost. Prezi is free for its basic
features, which is a key detail for many cost-minded parents who do not have hundreds
of dollars to spend on products like Microsoft Office.
Google Apps for Education and the ISTE NETS-T
In my future classroom, Google Aps for Education will be great learning tools that will address the ISTE NETS-T Standards in a beneficial way to the students. The first ISTE Standard, Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity, can be targeted with Google Sites. Google Sites can be used to allow students to create their own simple web site without having to write a single line of code. According to Google, it is as simple as writing a document and it comes pre-loaded with a number of templates. This can promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness because students will have to use their own creativity and imaginations in order to build a site. This app can help aid in the development of 21st century skills because developing web pages can be a very beneficial skill set for those applying for jobs after school. Any type of computer skills are a benefit in current times when computers run almost everything imaginable. This app would be beneficial in a class like Literature. A student could make a web site that s/he keeps a log of all the stories and books s/he has read and keep written analyses of the stories on this site. This will benefit the student in ares such as reading comprehension and written English skills.
The second ISTE standard, Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments, can be addressed with Google Slides. Similar to other presentation tools like Prezi and Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides allows you to create slideshows with embedded videos, animations, and transitions. This app will help students design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity by using their individual creativity and imagination to create their own personal slide show to showcase what they have learned on a particular topic. This will benefit the student in the 21st century because slideshows and presentations are becoming a large part of the educational and business world. Many students in College and employees in the business world will regularly make slideshows and presentations for classes as well as for the organization by which they are employed. Google slides could be utilized in practically any subject in school with benefits to the student. Students can, as previously mentioned, make a presentation to showcase their knowledge, test their creativity, and help other students learn from each other.
Model digital age work and learning is the third ISTE standard. This standard can be approached with an app like Google Docs. Google Docs can help students Demonstrate fluency in technology systems
and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations. Now instead of just writing an essay, printing it, and submitting it in person, the student can submit it on Google Docs and share it with their teachers, parents, and other students. This will benefit students in the 21st century because this will aid in collaborative skills. A student working on a group project, such as a science fair project, can start on the project alone, upload what he has done to Google Docs, where his partner can download it and continue working on it. She can then upload what she has done, and the two students can do a project as a team without ever having to meet face to face. This will aid students working on projects who may not always have schedules that work closely with one another. One student may have dance practice when the other is free, for example, but with this tool, there can be collaboration without direct interface.
Promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility is the fourth ISTE standard. A good app to promote this is Google Books. Google Books can help advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources. This will aid in the development of 21st century skills by teaching reading, written English skills, and comprehension. These are all necessities in our ever advancing society. Without being able to read and write, it would be nearly impossible for one to become employed, as you could not even build a resume or fill out a job application. This app would greatly benefit students in English, literature, and reading classes, as well as help them in other classes where they must read and write.
The last ISTE standard is engage in professional growth and leadership. Teachers can contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self- renewal of the teaching profession and of their school and community with an app like Google Moderator. Google Moderator would help students in just about any class, as a series can be opened on any topic. The teacher could post homework assignments here, and students who are having trouble can ask questions while others can post helpful suggestions. This could benefit in the 21st century later on iin situations like in a job where employers would like feedback from their employees on how they could improve the business or make changes, as well as any other comments or suggestions.
